Tagoe fights Robbles on August 8

International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Super Featherweight Champion, Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe, will fight Geraldo Robbles of the United States for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Inter-Continental Super Featherweight title in USA next month.

The bout was originally fixed for June 29 but was rescheduled to August 9 to enable the promoters to process the necessary travel documents for the Ghanaian boxer, who also holds World Boxing Association (WBA) International Lightweight title.

Organisers, Nelson Promotion and Gary Shaw Productions, have confirmed that the fight will be held at the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa in California. It will be the 22nd fight for Tagoe, who is seriously gunning for a world title shot.

Tough-talking Tagoe told the GNA that he was poised to make a greater impact on the world stage and was, therefore, looking forward to the fight as a platform to seek bigger challenges in the future.

Tagoe last fought at the Accra Sports Stadium against Filipino Ronald Pontilas, whom he defeated on a majority points victory in a controversial fight, which was marred by questionable decisions by referee Roger Barnor.
