Wisdom Gym dominates GAABA special contest

Accra, Oct 18, GNA - Wisdom Gym emerged the dominant force during a special contest organised by the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association (GAABA) held last Friday at the Prisons Canteen, Cantonments Accra. The Accra-based Gym were victors in three of the five-bout contest, which was organised to keep the boxers in shape following the completion of the first round of the third edition of the Amateur League. All the victories of Wisdom Gym incidentally were all achieved in clashes between their own products.

In the Flyweight division, Sulemana Tetteh outclassed Patrick Aryee via a unanimous decision just as Jibril Ahmed out-punched Omari Danso via a similar decision in their Middleweight clash. Black Bombers' Habib Ahmed also accounted for Kofi Acharikawana courtesy a unanimous decision in the Middleweight category. Fit Square Gym's duo of Duke Micah and Emmanuel Adjei made mince meat of Cape-Coast based debutants Kobby Andrews and Kwasi Anobel in the Flyweight and Welterweight divisions respectively. The Cape Coast duo who were outclassed via unanimous decisions however saw Andrews exhibiting some level of promise compared to Anobel who was stopped in the first round of the contest.
