Founded in 1980, IFMA is the world's largest and most widely recognized international association for facility management professionals, supporting 24,000 members in more than 100 countries.
To meet its mission to “advance the professional discipline of facility management ,” on an annual basis and in recognizing the need for Internationally Certified Facility Management Professionals in Ghana and Africa as a whole; the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) through its local Chapter, the Greater Accra Chapter, organized a Boot Camp in Ghana in November 2018.
This combined the IFMA FMP Credential Program’s print and online components with the leadership of qualified instructorJohn Vinken, Msc, Eng, CFM, CEM, CRSP, CET, FMP, SFP from the United Arab Emirates in training and testing the knowledge some facility management practitioners and industry suppliers in Ghana.
IFMA‘s Facility Management Professional (FMP) designation is a knowledge-based credential for Facility Management practitioners and industry suppliers looking to increase their depth-of-knowledge in the core Facility Management (FM) competency areas.
The following four knowledge domains, as determined by the recent IFMA global job task analysis, are deemed critical to the foundation of knowledge required of facility managers, and therefore were taught and tested by the IFMA FMP Credential Program.

• Project Management
• Finance & Business
• Leadership and Strategy
Eight (8) candidates successfully completed all four final assessments qualified for the FMP credential in addition to the three elite FM professionals in the country.
