The 2014 financial budget statement will be delivered by November, 2013, a government official has hinted.
Speaking on TV3’s 7GMT on Tuesday, Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, a Deputy Minister of Finance, disclosed that the budget statement will cover a wider area of the country’s economic spectrum.
He pointed out that President John Dramani Mahama will, in the budget statement, announce a stimulus package for some industries, though, Mr Forson conceded, he was not in a position to divulge the details.
President Mahama in a meeting with the Governing Council of the Association of Ghanaian Industries (AGI) at the Flagstaff House disclosed that the pharmaceutical, textile, agri-business, manufacturing and related sectors will be handed boons in next year’s budget.
