Ghana's president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been recognised for his significant contributions to advancing cybersecurity in Ghana. The honor was bestowed upon him at the 2024 Cybersecurity Awards held on Friday, November 1, 2024.
This acknowledgment is part of a broader celebration of efforts to improve the country's digital security landscape. Under his leadership, Ghana has made substantial progress in establishing frameworks and initiatives aimed at strengthening cybersecurity measures.

Since the establishment of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) under Section 2 of the Act in October 2021, several regulatory activities have been initiated.

The CSA has implemented measures to ensure that businesses, firms, and individuals cannot offer cybersecurity services without being licensed or accredited by the Authority.
Additionally, the Authority is responsible for safeguarding children online as mandated by the Cybersecurity Act 2020 and has revised the Child Online Protection Framework to guide all stakeholders in ensuring the safety of children on the internet.
