6th Ghana EOBS Conference launched in Accra

Economic Outlook and Business Strategy (EOBS) conference has been launched in Accra with Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia scheduled to be the guest speaker.

The one-day annual EOBS conference, which is being organized by the Africa Business Media (ABM) is themed “10 years of oil and gas: challenges and prospects”.

Dr. Yaw Akoto, Board Chairman of Africa Business Media (ABM) at the launch, said the forum would bring together relevant key players and policy makers who will discuss and address issues confronting the oil and gas industry.

“The EOBS since its inception in six years ago brings the relevant authorities in the corporate world and policy makers to take a critical look at a chosen sector of the economy for the singular purpose of advancing and boosting investor interest” he said.

Dr. Akoto said government has signed an exploration contract with the World’s largest oil and gas company, ExxonMobil Corp to explore for oil in the Deepwater Cape Three point offshore oilfield.

This according to him is a strong indication that major international oil companies will soon flock into the country.

In other to safeguard the interest of the country in such international deals, Dr. Akoto said, “We expect that the government is at work on the full implementation of the gas Master plan this year”.

The event which will be held on Wednesday, the 21st of March 2018 at the Labadi Beach Hotel involves a keynote address by the Vice President, Tullow Oil, Kosmos Energy, Hess, ENI, Vitol, Springfield and ExxonMobil and networking opportunities.
