A1 bread team pays courtesy call on Rawlings

Former President Jerry John Rawlings hosted some staff of A1 Bakeries at his residence when they visited to introduce to him some of their products.

The team, clad in A1 bread aprons and caps, and led by Edward Nana Poku (Hammer), Partner and Vice President of the firm, engaged Mr. Rawlings in a witty conversation while he tasted samples of the bread presented him.

“This is testing mic” said Rawlings who obviously enjoyed the first slice of bread he had tasted, took another, to iterate his satisfaction.

“You’re going to supply me bread for six months” he added to the amusement of the team gathered.

A1 Bakeries is owned by Godfred Obeng Boateng, a product of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and (KNUST).

Barely a year after commencing operation, A1 Bakeries has expanded curving a niche for itself as one of the fastest growing enterprises. The organization has branches in Accra and Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi where it started operations. It employs about six hundred young people who work at its warehouses.

In August, management as part of the celebration of its one year anniversary, acknowledged efforts of its vendors by rewarding two with a Kia Picanto each while several others received home appliances.
