Accra, July 16, GNA- Accra Brewery Limited, a subsidiary of SABMiller plc, is sponsoring students of the Opportunities Industrialisation Centre International under their HOPE programme, a statement from the company said in Accra on Wednesday. It said the cash donation would support 10 students pursuing a two-year training programme at the centre.
The beneficiaries include orphans and children of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Speaking at an outreach day programme of the centre on Wednesday in Accra, the Corporate Affairs Manager of ABL, Ms Adjoba Kyiamah, said the company was committed to improving the lives of the needy. She said that ABL had a long working relationship with OIC with focus on lending direct support to the centre's beneficiaries to improve their livelihoods.
Ms Kyiamah pledged the company's commitment to support the OIC in such programmes.
She said ABL also supported the HIV/AIDS outreach day programme with VitaMalt Plus and Club minerals. The HIV/AIDS Orphans and Vulnerable Children and PLHIV Care, Support and Economic Enhancement Programme (HOPE) sought to improve care and economic opportunities for people living with HIV/AIDS.
