ACCA holds 1st virtual career & job fair

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Ghana will this Friday, 27 January 2017 hold Ghana’s first Virtual Career & Job fair.

The objective of this online interactive event is to support employment opportunities in Ghana by offering employers, recruitment agencies and learning providers, direct access to a diverse talent pool of students, graduates and skilled professionals. The target groups for this event include students at the tertiary level, graduates of diverse disciplines, and other professions.

Market Head of ACCA Ghana, Doris Ahiati speaking to ClassFMonline.com said: “These are exciting times in the history of Training and personal development where the power of technology is leveraged to expand our reach towards greater inclusion. Employing technology makes it possible for many more people seeking some guidance or advice in career development and job search, who for some constraints including travel time, would otherwise not be able to participate to join in this Virtual Career Fair.”

“ACCA Ghana is happy to lead the way in providing this platform with cutting-edge technology for a career and job fair of this nature where people don’t have to physically be present but can access the event through mobile phones, tablets, PCs and other devices,” she added.

The event will also feature a Career Talk which will be hosted and moderated by the Assistant Controller and Accountant General who also doubles as the Director of Training, Dr Edward Akuamoah Boateng (FCCA) – an astute finance professional with extensive experience in public sector financial management.

The online event will showcase prime employers including UHY Voscon Chartered Accountants, Databank Group, GLICO Group, Vodafone Ghana, Ernst & Young, CAL Bank, Barclays Bank, Access Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, who will provide insights on career guidance and also offer job placement for prospective employees.

Participants can also visit virtual booths for top Recruitment firms in Ghana such as Rectrain Ltd, Jobberman Ghana, Careers In Ghana Ltd and HIREghana [Human Intelligence Recruitment] Ltd.

Also featuring are ACCA Tuition providers Harley Reed, Duke Williams, Purpose Discovery Foundation College, PSA Professional Institute, Benchmark Executive Business School amongst many others.
