The Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMCs), on Wednesday named 59 accredited oil marketing companies in good standing for business in 2014.
The companies are: Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), Agapet Oil Company Limited; Nasona Oil Company Limited; Ai Energy; Naagamni Oil Company Limited; Allied Oil; Obiba J.K. Company; Anasset Company Limited (Gas); Oando Ghana Limited; and Ap Oil & Gas Company Limited.
Others are Pacific Oil Company Limited; Bano Oil Company Limited; Petrobay Oil Company Limited; Benab Oil; Quantum Petroleum; Capstone Oil; Ready Oil; Crown Petroleum Ghana Limited; Rich Oil; Champion Oil; So Energy Ghana; Dukes Petroleum; Sonnidom Energy; Excel Oil; Shell Ghana; Ev Oil; Sky Petroleum; Engen Ghana; Star Oil; Fraga Oil; and Strategic Energies.
Frimps Oil; Superior Oil; Galaxy Oil; Tel Energy Limited; Grace Petroleum Oil Marketing Company; Top Oil; Total Petroleum; Glory Oil; Trade Cross Limited (Gas); Glasark Oil; Trinity Oil (Gas); Glee Oil; UBI Petroleum Ghana Limited; Havilah Oil; Union Oil; and Jeokona Company.
The rest are Unity Oil; Kaysens Oil Marketing (Gas); Universal Oil; Kings Energy Limited; Virgin Petroleum (Gas); Lucky Oil Company; Venus Oil; Modex Oil; Vivo Energy; Manbah Gas; Wapco Limited; and Merchant Oil Ghana Limited.
Mr Kwaku Agyemang-Duah AOMC Industrial Coordinator explained in an interview with Ghana News Agency that although it was not a requirement for all network marketing companies to become members of the Association, members stand to benefit from corporate recognition.
He therefore called on oil marketing companies who are yet to register with the Association to come on board, for "in unity lies strength".
Mr Agyemang-Duah tasked its members to strictly comply with all laws including anti-trust legislation of Ghana whilst avoiding engagement in product dumping and adulteration practices.
