Abapa Golden Limited organises training for its field staff

Abapa Golden Limited (Cocoa Division), a licensing buying company (LBC), has organised a two-day intensive training for its zonal and district officers and purchasing clerks in quality control and grading, purchasing procedures, cocoa botany, pest control and storage.

The training programme, held at the Bunso Cocoa College, was attended by 50 participants drawn from Akim Oda District in the Eastern Region, Assin Fosu and Assin Breku in the Central Region, Antoakrom in the Ashanti Region and Tarkwa and Enchi in the Western Region.

Mr. Samuel Anane, Managing Director of the Company said it was to upgrade their knowledge in modern methods of purchasing cocoa for efficiency and prompt delivery to the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).

He said the company was ready to train its farmers on quality and traceability.

Mr. Anthony Osei Boakye, a former Regional Quality Control Manager of COCOBOD and member of the Board of Directors of the company, said it had supported farmers with fertilizers and fungicides.
