Accra Bourse closes higher

Accra, Jan. 12, GNA - The Ghana Stock market finished higher on Monday, propelled by soaring prices for financial stocks to reverse Friday's loss.

The benchmark GSE-All Share Index was up 6.3 points at 3,613.95 points from 3,607.65 points at the previous close with the change year to date at 1.70 per cent.

Total shares traded fell to 385,000 from 500,200 shares recorded on Friday.

There were six positive price changes.

British American Tobacco was up at 5,600 cedis, Enterprise Insurance rose 100 cedis at 10,600 cedis and Ghana Commercial Bank went up five cedis at 8,620 cedis.

Trust Bank Limited gained 250 cedis at 10,000 cedis, Standard Chartered Bank rose four cedis at 67,005 cedis and Home Finance Company was richer one cedi at 4,051 cedis.

Market capitalisation now stands at 12,769.67 billion cedis from 12,753.76 billion cedis on Friday.
