Accra Institute of Technology holds STI EXPO

Technology-focused University, Accra Institute of Technology (AIT), have displayed a number of mouth-watering innovations at the institution’s 2019 edition of the Science, Technology and Innovation Expo.

The event, chaired by Professor. Benjamin Aggrey Ntim the Associate Dean of Innovations and Industrial Partnerships, had in attendance members of faculty, staff and students of AIT; industry players;student delegates from selected schools and tertiary institutions in Accra.

The AIT STI EXPO is an annual event organized for AIT students to showcase their final year projects. According to management, the EXPO is organized in partnership with Industry and Commerce is aimed at giving graduating students the needed exposure and undergraduates the motivation to excel.

This year’s exhibition was from the research projects of the students of the various schools of the university namely: Advanced School of Systems and Data Studies (ASSDAS), School of Advanced Technologies and Engineering Sciences (SATES) and AIT Business School (ABS).

AIT was recently ranked the top private university in Ghana by Ghana Tertiary Awards.

The Expo which had Professor. Benjamin Aggrey Ntim, Associate Dean of Innovations and Industrial Partnerships as chairman had in attendance members of faculty, staff and students of AIT; industry players; student delegates from selected schools and tertiary institutions in Accra.

In a speech read on his behalf Minister for Trade and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen said the government is committed to assisting and partnering institutions such as AIT in trading ready hands for the industry.

According to management, the school has an aspiration of becoming “a cradle of excellence in science, technology, and innovation. The University trains the next generations of entrepreneurs and innovators to forge their dreams and new ideas into products and services that address societal challenges and make a real difference”.

The school does not only train ready hands for industry but also equip students with entrepreneurial skills to become employers.

“Entrepreneurial experiences are woven throughout AIT’s unique curriculum, providing skills in design, teamwork, project management and business in partnership with leading industry and government collaborators”.
