The Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council has paid compensation to the second batch of farmers whose farms were destroyed for development projects at Adoagyiri-Symbol near Nsawam.
Nana Mbeah, Akyem Abuakwa Mponuahene (boundary chief), in an interview with the (GNA), said the Okyeman was striving to bring development to the area and create job opportunities for the people.
Nana Mbeah said part of the 26,000 acre land belonging to the Akyem Abuakwa stool of Apapam Division in the Eastern Region would be used for the construction of ware houses, offices and a housing project.
He appealed to the chiefs, opinion leaders and settlers on the Akyem Abuakwa stool lands to put an end to the land litigations and the employment of land guards, who end up jeopardizing development projects in the area.
Nana Mbeah urged them to send all their land documents to the Kibi Ofori Panyinfie to curb all the misunderstanding since Apapam has only stool lands and not family lands.
