Africa 35.35 Awards: 35 young innovators named for making Africa great in 2019

The Africa 35.35 Awards has announced the 35 under 35 outstanding young personalities in Africa.

Formerly known as the Francophone 35.35 Youth Awards and having expanded to cover both French and English-speaking Africa, the Awards reward young people on the continent and its diaspora aged 18 to 35 who have achieved exceptionally in the course of the year.

Selected out of 350 nominees living in 49 countries, these 35 laureates will be awarded during a ceremony on the 25th November 2019 in Accra, Ghana. The event shall be enhanced by the presence of leading figures of the host country.

The laureates will return with a trophy and prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes) in all the 11 categories. A super prize of the "Young African of the Year" will also be awarded during the ceremony.

Many laureates will also be given the platform to share their ideas or innovations before a gathering of 300 participants during the special "Inspiration Africa" event.

For the fourth consecutive year, this initiative is met with an incredible enthusiasm according to Richard Seshie, General Commissioner of the Africa 35.35 Awards.

"The Africa 35.35 Awards are an annual get-together to celebrate the best innovations spearheaded by young Africans on the continent and in the diaspora. We would like these innovations to inspire as much young Africans as possible to do same", he said.

The Africa 35.35 Awards are an initiative of Association 35.35, a platform bringing together young professionals in 30 African countries with the support of many institutional partners.
