Fast Growing fashion retailer tests Kumasi, Takoradi, and Koforidua
AfroChic, a fast-growing Ghanaian fashion retailer will test reception to its products in 3 cities this July by showcasing and selling its latest collection of contemporary designs through a road show.
The roadshow will travel to 3 cities, starting with Koforidua on 14th July at Partners May Hotel, followed on 21st July at Hotel Animens, Takoradi and end in Kumasi at the Golden Tulip Hotel on 28th July. At each location, the event will be held between 10am and 6pm.
Since it opened its online shop, www.afrochiconline.com, AfroChic has dressed several thousand young professionals who opened their hearts and wallets to purchase its affordably-priced outfits delivered to their doorstep in just 2 business days.
Despite a growing fan base in other regions, the online distribution channel was limited by a lack of viable payment system. But all that is set to change this month when its online store begins to accept Transflow bank payments and MTN mobile money.
Once this kicks in, the company will begin shipping outside Accra. According to CEO Adwoa Konadu Perbi, the purpose of the roadshow is to determine the level of interest in the company's products outside of Accra and to receive direct feedback from potential customers in other regions.
But those not yet ready to shop online need not worry. Earlier this year, AfroChic opened a physical shop, which is conveniently located adjacent Noble House Chinese Restaurant in Osu. The shop is stocked with new designs every week so customers have every reason to visit as often as they can. And indeed many do.
With impatient potential customers posting questions like "When is AfroChic coming to Cape-Coast" on their vibrant Facebook page, the company is well positioned to expand its reach accross Ghana. How quickly it does so, will depend on customer response to the roadshow.
Founded in 2009, AfroChic Limited is a business whose vision is to clothe Africa from within. To that end, the company retails ready-to-wear, stylish apparel for young professional men and women at friendly prices under its foundation brand AfroChic. Since its early days, AfroChic Limited has been fully committed to supporting the African textile industry and purposefully utilizes African fabrics in the manufacture of its clothes.
