Airtel Ghana has reinforced its commitment to realizing human potential with the institution of the Hello World study series; a series of lectures and talks designed to prepare students for the competitive world of work.

The brilliant initiative which was recently instituted under Airtel’s award winning CSR program, features lessons from the seasoned mid-level executives of the company.

Managers and heads of Airtel’s various units will be sharing their experiences, insights and tips to build a solid career in any profession with the final year undergraduates of tertiary institutions across the country.

“As a telecom company we have a working force with diverse career backgrounds spanning professions in commercial, corporate, technology and engineering. So for the majority of courses studied in tertiary institutions we have people with enough experience to provide insight and guidance that will prepare these students as they step into the world of work” stated Maame Dufie Cudjoe, CSR Manager.

“We have also noticed that there usually is a big gap between the knowledge acquired in school and how it should be applied in the field of work for first time employees. We believe this initiative will help bridge that gap and give students a better appreciation of the world of work before their first employment”, she added.

Kwame Annor, Human Resource Director of Airtel Ghana, stressed on the need for the initiative saying, “Aside the academic knowledge students acquire in school there are many soft skills and tactics that they need to learn to make them attractive to top employers. These skills will also support their growth trajectory as it will empowers them to become productive and indispensable assets to employers.

We are excited to work together with institutions across the country who are providing us the platform to share our knowledge and expertise with their students. We look forward to more exciting and interactive learning sessions.

Airtel Ghana continues to demonstrate commitment towards empowering people through its insightful educational and community projects. Over the years its initiatives such as the School Adoption Program, Evolve with STEM, Catapult Your Business and Airtel Touching Lives have worked with schools and communities to empower people to unleash their potential.
