The ceremony, held over the weekend in Accra, was well attended by the elite in Procurement.
AirtelTigo scooped the Best Procurement Transformation Award, where it was recognized for successfully consolidating its procurement strategies to ensure that the supply chain processes are streamlined and cost-effective through its ongoing integration process.
The other awards included Procurement and Supply Chain Team of the year (bronze category) and recognition of the company’s Chief Supply Chain Officer, Evelyn Sam, as Personality of the Year. Mrs Sam was also named among the top 20 procurement leaders in Ghana.
The Ghana Procurement and Supply Chain Awards is an initiative of Instinct Waves in partnership with the Public Procurement Authority and Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply.
Under the theme; “Promoting Procurement Excellence in Ghana”, the award ceremony was aimed at rewarding exceptional procurement talent, teams and organisations that have demonstrated excellence in best practices and innovation in the supply chain sector.
Mrs Sam expressed gratitude to the organisers for the recognition and added that: “This is a validation of teamwork, hard work and new operational structures we have implemented through the AirtelTigo merger process, to create effective and efficient business practices across our entire supply chain. This has resulted in a lean and agile business geared for long-term sustainable growth.”
The Minister of State in-charge of Public Procurement, Mrs Sarah Adwoa Safo, who was the guest speaker at the ceremony, also received the Sustainable Procurement Transformation Award.
