Economist Professor Lord Mensah from the University of Ghana expressed disappointment in the ruling party's approach leading up to the December 7 polls.
He believes the President should have been showcasing the results of his promises from the past eight years instead of just commissioning interchanges.
One of the President's main programs is the Planting for Food and Jobs initiative, but he has not been seen sampling or tasting any of the produce from PFJ.
In a series of tweets on November 30, 2024, he wrote: "I think it would have been economically refreshing and satisfactory to see the president sampling and tasting products from the 1D1F he promised Ghanaians eight years ago. Interchange and Bridges were not on top of his promises."
"BoG maintains policy rate at the heels of high food inflation and exchange rate pass-through effects on prices. Ghana has not benefited from the eight-year budget allocations for Planting for Food and Jobs and 1D1F policies. Failed policy coordination and deliverables," he wrote.
