Akyempim Rural Bank opens annex

Akyempim Rural Bank at Gomoa Dawurampong in Gomoa West District, has opened its second branch Annex at Agona Swedru to send banking services to the door steps of its customers.

Mr Jacob Wellington Assan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank made this known to journalists after the inauguration of the branch.

He explained that the annex was opened to reduce pressure on the main branch of the bank during payment of salaries.

The CEO hinted that the Agency would be operating Current Account, Savings Account, Fixed Deposit Account, Mbofra Daakyi Account, Mobile Banking, Microfinance and Business Advisory services.

Mr Assan said the financial entity, which is the second giant rural bank in Central Region is poised to ensure the growth of businesses, especially small scale ventures.

The CEO said the bank has some challenges but made significant progress in its operations in 2012 to 2013.

He said the bank chalked out success in the areas of paid up Capital, Deposits, Advances, Investments, Assets, Capital Adequacy of 13 per cent and Net worth.

He said the bank has set aside huge amount of money to be advanced to women entrepreneurs in co-operatives to undertake productive ventures to alleviate poverty.

He said the bank has rebranded its product known as ‘Enyidado Savings’ which enables salary earners to leave 10 per cent of their earnings in their accounts for six months to enable them enjoy a loan facility.

The CEO said a special education savings plan has been instituted to for parents to pay their children’s school fees from senior high school to the tertiary level.

Mr Owuba Nimfa, Agona, Swedru Branch Manager of the bank said the opening of the annex would sustain and maintain quality customer care services rendered to clients.
