Akyempim Rural bank re-launches products

Gomoa Dawurampong(C/R), July 9, GNA - The Akyempim Rural Bank has re-launched its savings mobilization products to strengthening its financial capital in order to get more revenue to support its customers. As part of the products management, the board of directors of the bank is undertaking outreach programmes to educate and inculcate savings habits into the people in the catchment areas of the bank. Mr Jacob Wellington Assan, General Manager of the bank disclosed this to newsmen at Dwauampong in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.

He mentioned some of the products as current and fixed deposit account; acquire property, women in development fund, general trading and savings scheme, and money transfer (Apex Link/ Western Union). Others are Micro finance, and Enyidado savings account, Dwatsir account, Susu savings and Ordinary account. He said the outreach programme, in the form of a float, would hit Swedru Mandela market, Apam, Winneba, Ankamu and Manford to educate the people on the need to transact business with the bank. Mr Assan noted that the bank would register and offer the clients, especially market women and businessmen with e-zwich cards. According to the Manager, enough credit facilities had been earmarked by the bank to support businessmen and women to expand and improve their businesses.

He pointed out that women groups operating in the catchement areas have been targeted for financial assistance to enable them support their children's education.

Mr Ato Ampiah, Marketing and ICT Manager of the bank explained that under the Enyidado product, salaried workers who saved 10 percent of their income in an account for six months and would qualify for a loan. The Marketing Manager said the "Mbrofa Daakye" product encouraged government workers in the area to place "Standing Order" for monthly deduction from their salaries into their children's savings for their future educational expenses.
