Amalgamated Bank donates to KATH

Kumasi, Oct. 30, GNA - The Kumasi branch of the Amalgamated Bank on Wednesday donated a cash of GH¢1000 to the Ghana Paediatric Heart Fund at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). The Bank has also opened an account with number 002-103443 for the hospital to raise funds to support paediatric heart surgery in the country.

Mr Kwasi Inkoom Asimeng, Business Manager of the bank who presented the money said it was to help provide world class heart surgeries for needy Ghanaian children with congenital heart problems and also improve the health standards in Ghana. He said the vision of the bank was to collaborate with the Ghana Health Service (GHS), to raise the living conditions of Ghanaians and also create awareness on their health status.

Mr Asimeng stressed the need for a healthy life for Ghanaians to boost socio-economic development in the country and advised the public to go to the hospital for treatment and desist from self medication. Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KATH who received the amount, expressed gratitude for the donation which he said would enhance quality health services to patients. He appealed to various institutions, non-governmental organizations and stakeholders to support the fund to help save the lives of Ghanaians.
