Ambassador Professor Tay is the Public Sector Procurement Personality of the Year

The Deputy Director (Head) of Procurement and Stores at the DVLA, Amb. Prof. Robert Tay, has been adjudged the Public Sector Procurement Personality of the Year at the 6th Edition of the Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Awards 2024, held at a colorful ceremony in Accra.

Amb. Prof. Tay was also awarded for being listed as a member of the Top 30 Procurement and Supply Chain Leaders at the ceremony. Under his astute and indefatigable leadership, his outfit, DVLA, was also adjudged the Public Sector Procurement and Supply Chain Team of the Year (Gold Category) as well as the Excellence in Procurement Operations (SOE).

According to the organizers of the prestigious awards, the ceremony sought not only to celebrate and reward stakeholders who drive excellence in the Procurement and Supply Chain industry and motivate innovation and inclusivity, but also to show appreciation and commitment for nurturing the positive impact of the profession on businesses.

Having been recognized and awarded as the Public Sector Personality of the industry since 2018 to date, Amb. Prof. Tay has also been consistently named as a Top 20 Procurement and Supply Chain Leader, as well as a Top 50 African Procurement and Supply Chain Leader, and has won several awards for the DVLA through his professional and innovative leadership.

Amb. Prof. Tay, who is a seasoned Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist with over 25 years of industry experience, is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS-UK), a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT-UK), and a Chartered Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Procurement (GIP).

He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Peace and Governance (CIPG-Texas, USA), and doubles as the Country Director of CIPG-Texas in Ghana. He is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU), Accra.
