Another BAT loss causes GSE to slip again

Accra, Sept. 2, GNA - The second significant loss by British American Tobacco (BAT) in 24 hours, pushed down the GSE All-Share Index, the main market indicator, during Friday's trading on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

BAT lost another 200 cedis having shed 300 cedis in Thursday's trading to bring the share price to 3,000 cedis. The index lost 5.03 points at 4,829.49 points from Thursday's close of 4,834.52 points.

Change for the year-to-date ended poorer at -28.96 per cent. There were four price changes three up and one down. Enterprise Insurance Limited gained three cedis at 5,013 cedis, Fan Milk Limited was eight cedis better at 15,050 cedis and Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited gained two cedis at 6,103 cedis.

Shares traded were better at 301,900 from 94,900 on Thursday. Market capitalisation slumped at 91,979.64 billion cedis from 91,922.91 billion cedis from 3,393.18 million shares.
