Aviance Ghana Ltd, has acquired a state of the art Cobus 2700s, for passenger facilitation at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
The new Cobus 2700s, worth $500,000, is the world’s best airport coach, developed specially for airport use with passenger doors on both sides.
This means there would be more mobility and flexibility on the apron, short “turn rounds”, and also provides an efficient fleet management system.
Mr. Paul Craig, the Managing Director of Aviance Ghana, said it had approved a two year equipment plan of three million dollars, which would see more ground handling equipment being brought in.
Mrl Craig told journalists that Aviance Ghana was keen to ensure that passengers arriving at the KIA, experienced a free and pleasant facilitation process, between aircraft and terminal buildings.
Arriving passengers using the bus for the first time, told journalists that there was a remarkable difference between the new Cobus and the ones already in use.
This bus obviously has better air conditioning, and feels much more comfortable, said Nicole John, an arriving passenger.
Aviance Ghana was established in 1994, to provide a range of ground handling services to airlines at the KIA.
The services include the management of an executive lounge for first and business class travellers, passenger check in and baggage handling, the loading and unloading of cargo from freight flights, and a cargo ware house operation for all import and export needs.
