Bank of Africa calls on Chief Imam

Management of Bank of Africa led by Kobby Andah, Managing Director paid a courtesy call on the Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu at his residence in Accra.

Accompanying the MD were Abubakar Essuman, Head of HR, Musah Abdul-Rahman, Head of Foreign Operations and Robert Nunoo, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications.

The visit was to solidarize with the Muslim community during the Ramadan and to make some donations to the Chief Imam in the spirit of the season.

Receiving the delegation to his residence, the Chief Imam explained the meaning for the Ramadan. He reiterated that the Holy month of Ramadan is a season of giving to the needy characterized by fasting and prayers. The Chief Imam was highly elated by the visit and pronounced blessings on the Bank for its warm and sustained gesture.

Kobby Andah emphasized that the Bank acknowledges the Holy Month of Ramadan and recognizes its importance to the stability of the state. According to the MD, Bank of Africa for the last three years has kept faith with its donations towards the Ramadan. He praised the Chief Imam for his personal role in ensuring the continuous peace of the country and wished him good health and long life.

In a related development, the Bank hosted its Muslim customers to an “Iftar’’ (dinner for breaking fast) over the weekend in Accra. Present was Sheikh Shuaib Arimyao, a renowned Muslim scholar in Ghana who speaks for the National Chief Imam, and other personalities from the Moroccan fraternity.

As part of the programme, the Sheikh offered prayers for the peace and unity of the nation as well as the growth of the bank.

Mr. Said Adren, Deputy Managing Director of Bank of Africa expressed gratitude to all the invited guests for attending to the invitation. He reminded all Muslims of the cardinal aim of Ramadan and asked them to abide by it.
