The Bank of Africa (BOA) has rewarded 100 customers with different prizes as part of its strategies to court clients and increase its customer base in the country.
The promotion, dubbed ‘The season of giving promo’, began in October 2015 and ended in January this year. It required both existing and new customers of the bank to deposit at least GH?300 into their savings or current account, and maintain or build it up within the period of the promo.
According to Said Arden, Deputy Managing Director of the bank, the promo is an initiative to celebrate and reward loyal customers of the bank and motivate them to continue doing business with it.
He emphasised that the promotion is different from those offered by other banks, in that the season of giving promo does not involve a draw to select winners but rather rewards all customers who meet the minimum requirement.
Over 5,000 customers successfully qualified for various kinds of prizes. The prizes included airtime, television sets, refrigerators, home-theatres, air-conditioners, rechargeable lamps, smartphones, microwaves and other home appliances.
The top prize -- a curved TV, a mini oven and a home-theatre set -- was carried away by a business entity, His Majesty Phones, a customer of the bank that saves with the Tema branch.
Josephine Achana, Accountant and Secretary of the phone shop who received the prize on behalf her organization, told the B&FT that she was excited about receiving the ultimate prize and thanked the bank for fulfilling its promise made to customers; adding that it should motivate potential customers to start saving with the bank.
