Banking stocks continue to lead the way

Accra, Aug. 13, GNA - The Accra bourse edged up in trading on Tuesday with banking stocks leading the way, but shares traded continued to be low.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main stock index, rose by 1.83 points to 5,407.18 from 5,405.37 points. Change for the year improved to 8.01 per cent.

Shares that changed came down to 89,700 from 158,400 shares on Monday.

There were five price changes, all positive, with three of them being banking stocks.

Ecobank Ghana was 0.0050 GH cedis higher at 1.5000 GH cedis, Enterprise Insurance gained 0.0001 GH cedis at 1.2001 GH cedis, Fan Milk Limited appreciated by 0.0050 GH cedis at 2.1050 GH cedis, Ghana Commercial Bank was 0.0001 GH cedis better at 0.6906 GH cedis and SG-SSB gained 0.0013 GH cedis at 0.9200 GH cedis. Market capitalization was 11,615.85 million GH cedis from 11,614.52 GH cedis.
