Best Western Premier Hotel honours 18 staff

The management of Best Western Premier Hotel at Airport, Accra has held staff appreciation event to reward hardworking employees of the hotel.

In all, 18 of the hotel’s long serving staff were rewarded for their contribution towards the success and the growth of the company.

The awards ceremony which forms part of the hotel’s 5th Anniversary celebration was used to recognize the roles of the hotel’s employees who have served in diverse ways to make the hotel an important player within the hospitality landscape in Ghana.

The General Manager, Mr Zibrim Yamusah, paid glowing tribute to staff, particularly those who have remained with the hotel since its inception, for their hard work, dedication and commitment to put the hotel at the level it is today in Ghana’s hospitality business.

According to him, the dedication of the staff to build a formidable brand image cannot be underestimated.
He however, cautioned that while staff enjoy gains made over the years, there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Mr Yamusah however hinted that delivering improved services to all current and potential clients will inform the hotel’s strategy direction. He also mentioned that intensive training efforts will be continued coupled with the hiring of world class staff to meeting the changing human resource needs of the hotel.

All the 18 staff members who have remained with the hotel of its 5 years history automatically enjoyed between 25 – 30 percent increase in salary plus other exciting packages including mutual health insurance cover for spouse and 2 kids, educational scholarship for 2 kids, career development programme for staff, and many other exciting rewards.

Reminding the staff on the need for greater effort, the Manager recounted the performance of the hotel this year. Adding that the negative effect of the Ebola pandemic affected the hotel’s performance last year, He was, however, optimistic hard work and dedication to duty coupled with positive attitude to work by every member of staff will generate the needed results.

For their part, the awarded staff members were full of praise. They however acknowledged and thanked management for the opportunity.
New staff members were assured of management’s support to grow and remain with the hotel. They were advised to follow their colleagues’ example as loyalty pays greatly.
