Bourse continues to slide on quiet day

Accra, Sept. 6, GNA - The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) continued to slide in quiet trading on Monday that saw only two price changes.

The GSE All-Share Index was down by 32.31 points to 7,170.32 points after a 100-cedi loss by Cocoa Products Company (CPC). Change for the year ended the day at 101.79 per cent from 102.70 per cent on Friday.

Traded volumes closed lower at 173,300 shares from 798,300 shares on Friday.

On the broader market, there were two price changes - one up and one down.

CPC lost 100 cedis at 1,200 cedis and Enterprise Insurance Company gained 500 cedis at 6,500 cedis.

Market capitalisation was also lower at 97,582.62 billion cedis from 97,655.99 billion cedis from 3,415.69 million issued shares.
