British Chamber of Commerce delegation to visit Ghana

Accra, June 2, GNA 96 A delegation of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce (CWCC) of the United Kingdom made up of 16 companies would pay a six-day visit to Ghana from June 4, a statement from the British High Commission said in Accra on Friday.

CWCC, which is part of the Advantage West Midlands Regional Office, would be led by Mr Ajay Desai and would give presentations in areas such as IT/Telecom; training and development at the British High Commission. The UK Trade and Investment, the British Government=92s export development arm, is sponsoring the visit.

The statement said Mr Desai had many years experience in managing market visits under the auspices of UK Trade and Investment. It said the Mission Members represented a wide range of computer solutions in the ICT sector, training and development, new and refurbished plant and equipment.

These include data cabling networking; consultation for customised information technology solutions; training and personal development initiatives; suppliers of quality PC components; IT pre-emptive security services and solutions and security awareness education for Small Scale Enterprises (SME), personal and business education and development programmes.

The statement said the mission participants had a range of objectives including looking for distributors; creating awareness of their IT training systems and consultancy services. They would also explore learning modules appropriate for the Ghanaian market; forge transferable strategic partnerships and supply new and used plant and construction equipment to road construction, pipe-laying and mining concerns.

They would all be looking to make new contacts, the statement said.
