Founder of All People’s Congress, Hassan Ayariga has criticized the Akufo-Addo government for the poor state of the economy which is taking a negative toll on businesses.
The embattled politician who is an ardent critic of the NPP noted that the confidence Ghanaians had in the ruling party is no more as their hopes have been quashed by the increased price of foodstuffs and fuel
“I think business has gone down drastically in Ghana because initially when they came people had the hope and confident that things were going to change but as time went on day by day things were retrogressing instead of moving up.”
According to Mr Ayariga, promises made by the NPP were just to score political points.
“I think that what account for is that you have made so many promises that are visible and you have no blue print and you were saying it just to win political power and now you win the political power and you didn’t know you would win and you won the power and now without the blue print of all the things you were saying it becomes a problem to implement them so you get stranded, ’’ He was speaking in an interview with George Kwasi-Bright of Afrikan Post Newspaper.
Meanwhile Mr Ayariga has applauded the paperless port system which was launched by the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia last year.
He said the system allows a transparent and smooth process for importers and exporters at the port.
“The process of the paperless economy where the one Ghana to begin into transparent, procurement, harbor processes, for me it’s a good thing
“The issue of cashless economy where we don’t have to be using cash and other things is a good thing nobody will take it away from them I like it I would have implemented such policy.” He noted.
