The Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Shipping also known Conship, Dr. Macdonald Chimandas Vasnani has lauded the customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority and their technical partners, West blue consulting for successfully implementing the Ghana National Single Window project.

According to him, the single window project has significantly reduced the cost and time of doing business in the country.

Dr. Vasnani was speaking in an interview with Eye On Port on the sidelines of the launching of a new Conship office complex expected to deliver improved services of clients of the company.

Conship is one of the successful Ghanaian businesses that is making great strides both locally and internationally.

He indicated that the company will continue to invest in Ghana so as to improve on the maritime trade.

“When you go unto the portal and you have every stakeholder on the system. We used to drive to Ministry of Agriculture and Trade and all those places to get permit and everything, but if you sit in the comfort of your office or home behind your PC and do all these things, I think it is fantastic,” he said.

The CEO of Westblue Consulting, Valentina Mintah said as the facilitator of the national single window project, she believes Conship together with other stakeholders have played an important role ensuring the success of the project.

“If you look at the single window, logistics and the movement of goods is really key, so you can have efficiency of documents or the documentary requirements, you can have efficient financial systems but if the actual movement of the cargo from point A to point B is inadequate it compromises the entire chain. So the likes of Conship and other freight forwarders play a pivotal role in everything that we are doing in terms of the single window,” she said.
