Chief Executives of US companies in Ghana for entrepreneur project

Accra, June 19, GNA - A delegation of Chief Executives of various companies in the US, are in Ghana to observe the national competition of students involved in entrepreneurial projects.

The event being organized on Saturday by Students-In-Free Enterprise (SIFE), a student oriented organization that operates in 40 countries, is aimed at developing projects that will benefit their communities.

In Ghana, SIFE can be found in 14 tertiary institutions. The winner of the contest would represent Ghana at the world championship, which would take place in Barcelona, Spain. Mr Robert Rich, Chairman of SIFE commended Ghanaian students for the enthusiasm they had shown in striving for self-development.

He told journalists on his arrival in Accra that the innovation displayed by the students was the ingredient needed for progress. Mr Jack Shewmaker, a member of the US delegation advised students to be confident in pursuing their hopes and aspirations saying, "Never say you can't do it, don't give up on what you set your mind to do". He expressed the hope that everyone would be given the chance to excel in his or her chosen field of endeavour.

Mr Kwadow Afram-Aseidu, Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and President's Special Initiative observed that SIFE programme fell in line with Government programmes for the youth. He urged the Chief Executives to look for potential business opportunities in Ghana.
