The Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Peter Faidoo has held his bi-annual conference with his Flag Officers, Directors and Principal Staff Officers of the Ghana Navy at the Busua Beach Resort in the Western Region.
The aim of the conference was to discuss major strategic, operational and logistics issues affecting the Ghana Navy. Additionally, it was also to engage key maritime stakeholders on better collaboration towards a more secured country.
The bi-annual conference was to device strategic ways of securing Ghana’s maritime domain through a collaborative effort.
Public Affairs & Marketing Manager of Takoradi Port, Peter Amoo-Bediako, commended the Ghana Navy for collaborating with GPHA Security and the Marine Police to secure the anchorage of the ports of Ghana.
The Chief of Naval Staff also commended GPHA for their support to the Navy over the years. He assured GPHA that their core activity was to secure the waters of Ghana but they have had to complement the efforts of the Port Authority with facilities at very crucial moments when the need be, for instance when the oil/gas was discovered in commercial quantities in Ghana.
