‘Chiefs must join hunt for investors’

Nii Tetteh Mensah II, Chief of Kpobiman, says chieftaincy should be used as a tool for attracting investors and mobilising local resources for development.

He said social stability and peace would only prevail in communities if there was economic development and prosperity.

Nii Tetteh Mensah was inaugurating a 46-seat toilet and bathroom at Kpobiman in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

He said the 450,000 Ghana cedi facility was among other projects that he and his kinsmen had put up in their bid to create an enabling environment for doing business to help improve the poor living conditions of the youth in the area.

He told the GNA that there was a biogas digester component attached to the project which would process gas for domestic use and for agricultural activities.

Mr. Samuel Atukwei Quaye, Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, praised the chief for positioning chieftaincy as an agent for development and harmony in modern Ghanaian society through his deeds and utterances.

Mr Quaye said the facility woudl reduce high prevalence of open defecation which has contributed to the outbreak of the cholera in the Ga West Municipality.
