Samsam (G/A), Dec. 13, GNA - Representatives from Coca Cola International in the US led by its Territorial Marketing Manager, Mr. Miniac Sastre on Saturday visited Samsam-Odumase in the Ga District, to inspect a primary school the company had constructed in the town at the cost of 230 million cedis last year.
Mr. Sastre told the Ghana News Agency that the visit was an annual programme to inspect school projects everywhere in countries where Coca Cola operates and for people to know more about their products. He said the first phase of the project, which had been completed is presently accommodating the school children, adding that a community library and a standard playing field would also be constructed next year as part of the second phase at the cost of 30,000 dollars.
Mr. Sastre said, "Our community initiatives was to motivate the local people world-wide for support from our donors as well as our shareholders," adding that the third phase of the project would be the construction of a Junior Secondary School block for the area. Nii Kwame Perbi II, Chief of Odumase, who received the delegation thanked Coca Cola Company for the donation and for promoting quality education in the area.
He advised parents to send their children to school to enable them to acquire skills required for national development. Two computers with accessories were later donated to the primary school.
