The President of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG), Dr. Daniel Kasser Tee, has called on Ghanaians to maintain peace and unity during the upcoming elections.

Speaking at a ceremony to induct 66 new members in Accra on November 30, 2024, Dr. Kasser Tee emphasised the significance of this election year for the nation.

He highlighted that elections are a cornerstone of democracy and that the collective conduct of Ghanaians before, during, and after the polls will determine not only the outcome but also the legacy left for future generations.

“Elections are a cornerstone of democracy, and our collective conduct before, during, and after the polls will determine not only the outcome but also the legacy we will leave for future generations as a nation.

“I urge every Ghanaian to honor the peace pact signed by our 12 presidential candidates a few days ago and to commit to upholding the peace, unity, and democratic maturity that make our nation a shining example on the continent of Africa," he stated.

He called for respect, tolerance, and civility in approaching the elections, ensuring that Ghana remains a beacon of hope and stability.

“Let us, therefore, approach the elections with respect, tolerance, and civility, ensuring that Ghana remains a beacon of hope and stability.

“Together we can prove that our democracy is not just about voting but about building bridges of understanding and fostering a culture of mutual respect,” he added.

Dr. Kasser Tee’s comments come as the country gears up for the 2024 general elections scheduled for December 7.

Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will be competing against the NDC flagbearer and former President John Dramani Mahama; New Force Movement leader, Nana Kwame Bediako; Movement for Change leader Alan Kyerematen; and eight other candidates.
