The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Offinso North in the Ashanti Region, David Kwasi Asare has made passionate appeal to farmer in the area making no attempt to repay loans they secured from the government in buying farm inputs close to two years now.

"I am not happy of the recovering rate of last year’s Planting for Food and Jobs input loans. This fund is a revolving one which farmers must pay for other to benefit", he bemoaned during the Assembly's 2018 last General Assembly Meeting held at Akomadan.

"I hope that Hon. Assembly Members would talk to their people to pay since the Director of Agriculture has made the names available to honourable members", the DCE revealed

According to Hon. David Kwasi Asare, cashew farmers in the area have received financial support from the local Assembly to raise seedlings as part of the government's plans to increase cashew growth and it exportations.

"The Assembly invested over hundred thousand Ghana cedis (GHC100, 000.00) to raise six hundred thousand (600,000) cashew seedlings", he stated in his sessional address delivered

According to the DCE, farmers in the district from next year 2019 will be given every necessary support from the central government to boost agricultural products in the area and the entire country at large.

"We shall continue to empower our farmers in what they do. In the coming years my administration shall raise One Million (1,000,000) cashew seedlings to support farmers in the district", Hon. David Kwasi Asare said

"Agriculture will continue to be given the needed attention by my Administration. This year’s Farmer’s Day Celebration was great", the DCE observed.
