An Accra Fast Track High Court has ordered the Ghana Revenue Authority to reopen the offices of the International Energy Insurance Company.
The company was closed down last Friday by the GRA taskforce for evading tax to the tune of 1.3 million cedis.
The Company sued the GRA, describing the closure as illegal.
Speaking to Starr Business, Head of the Revenue Mobilization Taskforce at the GRA, Theophilus Gaskin said although they do not agree with the court’s decision, they would comply once they are served with a notice.
The GRA which has been battling a decrease in its targets following an increase in tax evasion, last week announced it had begun investigating a number of multinational companies in the country, suspected of massive evasion of tax through profit shifting.
