As congratulatory messages continue to pour in for Ghana's President-elect John Dramani Mahama, the National Cross Border Women Traders Association (NCBWTA) is the latest to join the list.

The association in a statement issued on Thursday, December 19, 2024, jointly signed by its National President, Rose Lucky Xenordzi and national coordinator, Oscar Akaba-Norvixoxo, commended the President-elect on his resounding victory in the December 7 general elections.

"We are thrilled that President Mahama, a champion of regional integration and economic development, has been entrusted with this critical leadership role. His vision, experience, and commitment to promoting economic growth and development in Ghana, especially the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto promise for women empowerment are truly commendable," the statement said.

It added: "As an association of women cross-border traders, we are particularly excited about President Mahama's re-election because of his strong track record of supporting women's economic empowerment and promoting trade across borders in the ECOWAS subregion."

NCBWTA is confident that under President Mahama's leadership, the Women Development Bank and women's trade facilitation across the region will witness significant progress in promoting economic integration, trade facilitation, and women's economic empowerment.

"Once again, we congratulate President Mahama on his election and wish him success in his new role," the statement concluded.
