The 2024 Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to opt for experienced leadership in the December polls in the face of the economic hardships facing the country.

Mr. Mahama noted that his track record in governance would steer the country through difficulties and mismanagement caused by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

“Yet again, it brought home the unprecedented challenges many households and communities face because of a combination of the teetering economy, which is on the edge of ruin, lousy governance, and high-level corruption of the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administration."

“To make matters worse, excessive taxes are straining workers and business owners, while unemployment is skyrocketing.

“This is why we must be decisive on December 7 to choose a leader with EXPERIENCE and a good track record. In these perilous times, our beloved country requires steady leadership—someone who knows how to navigate stormy seas and transform challenges into opportunities,” Mr. Mahama said.

Mr. Mahama indicated that the country could afford to be handed “into the uncertainty of untested hands,” an apparent reference to his self-acclaimed credentials as an experienced driver.

Former President Mahama has been rebutting his main opponent, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's political argument that the country needed a “brand new tear-rubber president”.
