The Authority, mandated to provide a regulated framework for an enhanced and more effective administration of drivers and vehicles, swept six prestigious awards at the 6th Annual Communications Awards, held last Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Accra Marriott Hotel in Airport City.
The event, themed "Digital Future: Embracing Innovation and Inclusivity for Development," marked the award's Digital Future Edition and brought together key stakeholders, industry experts, government officials, innovators, and thought leaders in the fields of digitalization, communications, and media.
It served as a platform to showcase and honor remarkable achievements and initiatives that have made a significant impact on Ghana's digital landscape.
DVLA won the Outstanding Innovation for Vehicle Registration Award, Revenue Growth Achievement Award (Digital Transformation), and the Technology-Driven CEO of the Year (Public Sector), which was awarded to Mr. Kwasi Agyeman Busia, the CEO.
Other awards received by DVLA included the Research & Innovation Leader of the Year (Public Sector) for Mr. Abraham Zaato, the Deputy Director of Research, Business Development & Innovation at DVLA. The institution also won the Social Media Excellence Award (Public Sector) and the Emerging Social Media Team of the Year (Public Sector).
The National Communications Awards provided an exceptional opportunity for stakeholders in the communication, media, and digitalization space to network, entertain patrons, reinforce relationships with industry stakeholders, and reward staff for exceptional performance.
The awards come at a pivotal moment as Ghana continues to evolve and embrace the dynamic landscape of the technology and telecom industry.
Today, many public institutions in Ghana have adopted a digital approach to business and productivity with DVLA optimistic that it can meet its challenges with the use of digital technology.
