Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has called on the people of Nkoranza North in the Bono East Region to demand their locked-up funds from the defunct DKM Microfinance from NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mr Mahama stated that the owner of DKM, which operated heavily in Nkoranza North, is a financier and strong member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Recalling the 2016 election campaign, Mr Mahama noted that the issue of DKM's ownership became a major political topic, with the then-opposition NPP accusing him and his wife, Lordina Mahama, of owning the company.

The central bank suspended DKM in 2015 for breaches of the Banking Act.

Speaking in Nkoranza North in the Bono East Region, Mr Mahama highlighted that the company's owner is now deeply involved in supporting Vice President Bawumia's campaign.
