Mr Daniel Owusu Koranteng, General Secretary, Maritime and Dockworkers Union of the Trades Union Congress has reiterated the need for Government to rescind its decision to freeze salaries.
He said the decision, if not changed, would not only erode incomes of workers, but bring economic pressure on them; a recipe for industrial disharmony which would affect productivity.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Friday, Mr Koranteng said: “If prices are going up whiles salaries are frozen, it means that workers are going to suffer.
“It is in the interest of productivity that Government must review its stands by looking at the economic realities on the ground so as to prevent tension in the country.”
