Don't be afraid to fail in business as an entrepreneur - GH Media Chancellor to youth

Business entrepreneur, Dr. Kofi Osei-Kusi has urged young entrepreneurs of GH Media School not to allow the fear of making mistakes thwart their ambitions of starting a businesses.

Dr. Kofi Osei-Kusi who doubles as chancellor of GH Media School was addressing the students when he made the call, daring them to build capacity to sustain their business for a long time.

Speaking at the second edition of ‘Change Africa Summit’, the life coach stated that starting a business is very difficult but more difficult is the task of ensuring that the business thrives beyond a generation.

Sharing some nuggets on how to make sure a business survives, Dr. Osei-Kusi advised students and Ghanaians in general not be afraid to “break” the rules sometimes in making life choice for a business.

Dr. Osei-Kusi urged students and business minded individuals to change the status quo of the job seeking emulated pattern to job creation models in Ghana.

“Business is not about sufficiency but about long term objective. Building a business is so difficult and there is no formulae but the heavier you are the higher you. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. You have to be stubborn. Don’t be afraid of people laughing at you” he said

Ghana has many promising young entrepreneurs who are faced with hurdles in their quest to start and sustain a business.



The problems besetting entrepreneurship in Ghana are multifaceted, though, not without hope. These challenges range from human capital, financial capital, legal and regulatory framework, infrastructure, technology, marketing and customer loyalty to social and cultural attitudes.
