Mr Simon Dornoo has resigned from Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB Bank) effective March 3, 2016.
Mr Dornoo is leaving the bank after a six-year tenure as Managing Director to pursue “other interests”, according to a statement from GCB.
“During his tenure, Mr Dornoo led his executive management and GCB team to transform the bank and reposition it as one of the best-performing banks in the country.
“The board, management and staff of GCB Bank are privileged to have worked closely with him to propel the bank to its current status and wish to express their profound gratitude to him for his period of dedicated service to the bank,” GCB said.
GCB Bank Limited said it wishes Mr Dornoo well in his future endeavours.
While the bank searches for Mr Dornoo’s replacement, the Board of Directors of GCB has appointed Chief Operating Officer, Mr Samuel Sarong as acting MD while the bank searches for Mr Dornoo’s substantial replacement.
