Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has acknowledged that the cost of living is high in Ghana.

He has, however, assured the people of Ghana that efforts are being made to alleviate the hardship.

The NPP flagbearer, who expressed concern about the increasing unemployment rate in the country, urged Ghanaians to support the NPP, known for its track record of job creation.

"Many economists and analysts have rightly pointed out that Ghana has made progress, but we understand that for many families, the cost of living remains a significant challenge. The hardships are real, and we are committed to taking additional steps to ease the burden on Ghanaians.

"We are also dedicated to generating more employment opportunities to address the issue of youth unemployment, especially with a national population that has grown by over 5 million in the past eight years alone.

"We have already created 2.3 million jobs – the most of any government in the Fourth Republic. However, youth unemployment continues to be a pressing concern, and we are determined to do more.

"This is why it is more beneficial to continue supporting a party that has produced more jobs than any other in the Fourth Republic, rather than reverting to a party and a leader who, after four years of power outages, caused more unemployment than any other government in the Fourth Republic," he stated.
