Ghanaians will suffer intermittent power outages as a result of reduction in gas supply from Nigeria, a statement from Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) says.
Gas supply has reduced to 6.0mmscf from the agreed 120.0 mmscf due to vandalism to the West Africa Gas pipelines.
"Following this development, engineers have commenced the process of converting all dual fuel thermal plants to run on Light Crude Oil to resolve the challenge," the statement on Sunday, March 20.
The process is expected to take a few days, it added.
"During this period, the power supply system may experience some challenges thereby affecting power supply stability."
