Investors in the Energy Sector Support Levy (ESLA) PLC are to enjoy coupon payments on 26 June 2020 and 13 July 2020, respectively.

The coupon payments are to be made to investors who hold the ESLA PLC 12-year and 10-year bonds.

It is, however, unclear the amount of money that will be paid to holders of the two bonds.

According to a release by the Ghana Stock Exchange, bondholders of Tranche E3 registered in the books of ESLA PLC at the close of business on Friday, 26 June 2020, will qualify for the coupon payment.

At the same time, bondholders of Tranche E4 registered in the books of ESLA PLC at the close of business on Friday, 26 June 2020 will qualify for the coupon payment but will be paid in July 2020.

ESLA Plc recorded a profit of GH¢17.6 million in 2019.

This was, however, lower than the GH¢33 million recorded in 2018.

The decline in profit was due to a GH¢416 million bad debt recorded in the books.

According to its unaudited 2019 Financial Statement, earnings per share, however, dropped from GH¢33.06 to GH¢17.64.

ESLA Plc has, since inception, issued bonds worth GH¢6.664 billion.

This resulted from issuances in November 2017 (7-year tranche E1 and 10-year tranche E2), January 2018 (tap of 10-year tranche E2-B), August 2018 (tap of 10-year tranche E2-C) and June 2019 (10-year tranche E3), August (tap of 10-year tranche E2-C) and June 2019 (10-year tranche E3).
